Mission

MuSE (Music, Sound, Engineering) is an NYU student club for people working across audio, technology, engineering, and creative practice.

It was founded in fall 2024 as GenAudio, NYU's first generative audio and AI club, and renamed MuSE in 2026 as its scope widened beyond generative audio.

The club's mission is to give NYU students interested in audio, technology, engineering, and creative practice opportunities to learn, collaborate, engage in research, and connect with industry. It explores the tools, systems, and ideas shaping the future of sound from both creative and technical perspectives.

Members are undergraduate, master's, and PhD students from across NYU's schools. Faculty and industry guests attend open events.

How membership works

Membership is open to any matriculated NYU student, regardless of school or major. There is no application and there are no dues. Friends from the wider university community are welcome at any open event. Details and links are on the join page.

How meetings work

General meetings are Mondays at 7:00 PM in the 6th-floor conference room of the Education Building, 35 W 4th St. Each meeting opens with announcements from the board, then a 30 to 45 minute talk, research paper discussion or workshop, followed by Q&A and open discussion. No sign-up needed.
